At Whittaker Furniture Restoration, traditional restoration methods are used in all timber work. Where parts are missing, timber from aged stock is used to piece and repair items of furniture. Repairs can range from remaking drawers, or as in the example of the mahogany 2-door cabinet below, replacing door slips, repairing and re-applying veneers re-hanging doors using brass hinges, fitting lock escutcheon and key then re-polishing cabinet retaining age marks and colour match of original polish.
